I’Velo bikes and scooters can be rented based on a valid subscription / service with the I’Velo app.
Download the I’Velo app and you have two options to register:
- With the Orange phone number
Simple and fast: just by providing the phone number and entering a verification sms. You get instant approval and you can enjoy our bike or scooter ride. - If you are not an Orange member:
- Create a new account or login with your Facebook profile;
- Take a picture of your ID;
- Take a selfie with your ID;
- Wait for the approval from the I’Velo operator.
After you will be notified that your account was activated, you will need to enter your bank card, to purchase a subscription / service.
After this you scan the QR code, the bike/scooter will be released from the dock and you can start riding.
Once your account has been approved:
- If you are at an I’Velo Relax center, scan the barcode on the bike, take the bike and confirm the rental with the I’Velo operator.
- If you are at an I’Velo Urban station, scan the QR code on the bike / scooter or on the station, the bike / scooter is unlocked, pull it out of the rack and enjoy the ride.
Yes, you can create a new account or log in with your Facebook profile:

- Wait for validation from the I’Velo operator.
After you will be notified for your account activation, you will need to enter your bank card, to purchase a subscription / service.
After this step you scan the QR code, the bike / scooter will be released from the dock and you can start walking.
On average it takes 10-15 minutes, depending on the number of requests received. Remember, no validations are made between 22:00 and 10:00.
You can get a subscription directly from the I’Velo mobile app or from any of the I’Velo Relax centers (Herastrau Park, Youth Park, IOR Park).
The races can be extended at any time during the two hours by pressing the Extra Time button on the main screen. Normally, a rental lasts 120 minutes. But now, if you need more time, all you have to do is scan the code on your bike and get another 120 minutes. And this at no extra cost.
Yes, with the I’Velo app you can also rent a Relax bike.
Scooters can only be rented with the I’Velo app.
No, you can rent only one bicycle/scooter.

Use the FORCE STOP button from the I’Velo app: make sure the bike is locked in the dock, scan the QR code of the dock where you left the bike and the race closes.
I’Velo bikes return from where you picked them up:
- If you took a bicycle from an automated station you can return it to any other automated station.
- If you took a bike from an I’Velo Relax center you can return it to an I’Velo Relax center.
Bicycles in automated stations do not return to I’Velo centers and vice versa.
I’Velo scooters return from where you took them:
- If you took a scooter from an automated station you can return it to any other automated station.
- If you took a scooter from an I’Velo Relax center you can return it to an I’Velo Relax center.
Scooters in automated stations do not return to I’Velo centers and vice versa.
Currently the registration service based on the identity card is available for Romanian citizens who have CNP.
The additional cost applies from the first minute after exceeding the two hours included in the subscription.
Once you return the bike / scooter, the extra cost will be automatically deducted from the card.
Lock the bike/scooter in an available dock, log in to the main pole and request its replacement with another bicycle.
The time allowed for the replacement of a broken bicycle/scooter, from the moment it is taken over is up to 5 minutes, these not being counted.
The defect of a bicycle / scooter is reported through the I’Velo application, at the main pole or at the Call Center +4021 327 57 78.
Try to get to the nearest I’Velo Urban station / I’Velo Relax center or call the Call Center +4021 327 57 78.
